Flickr doesn't use the EXIF lat/long portions for geotagging. They're doing some kludgy thing where they use the IPTC keywords field to compose geotags and store them as keywords. They should be working on that...hopefully.

This means that if your camera can enter geotags into EXIF, Flickr will not display them properly unless you tell Flickr to import the geotags.

Hi Alex,

Nice post on the Long Tail and I completely agree with it's applicability to microstock. We've been in the industry for a little while now and are big believers in analytics and measurement as a means of improving earnings.

Thanks. I did do a course in SLR photography and know about depth of field but without my manual, couldn't quite understand if AV on my digital camera meant the same as A that most people see now on their digital cameras. Photoshopping can be necessary to strengthen idea your image should deliver. I'm not using Photoshop that much, but not because I am against editing, but because most of my editing is made in Apples Aperture.
